China's Tlanjin Municipality Adopts Energy Savings, Green Building Policies

The state-level municipality of Tianjin, one of China's designated low-carbon pilot areas, has adopted new policies on energy conservation and building energy efficiency that will go into effect July 1.Officials said the two policies, released May 15, will help Tianjin reduce its energy intensity—or use per unit of production—18 percent compared to 2010 levels by 2015. Tianjin is located in northeastern China near Beijing and has a population of more than 10 million.
