摘要

Facing conflicts between environmental protection and development policies, Thailand is expected in 2013 to review outdated environmental laws and look at ways to improve implementation of existing regulations. "The mainstream approach for country development is still based on an economic growth strategy," Buntoon Srethasirote, director of the Good Governance for Social Development and the Environment Institute (GSEI), told BNA. "Although the 11th National Economic and Social Development Plan of Thailand [2012-2016] shifted the development approach and redirected the country to a low-carbon and environmentally friendly economy, government policy is moving in another direction."
