Revised standards for clean production in the cement industry have been proposed by China's National Development and Reform Commission. The draft standards, released in a July 29 statement, would update requirements for production techniques and facilities, set resource and energy consumption targets, and limit pollutant emission levels. The standards were jointly issued by the commission, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The commission did not release a timeline for putting them into effect. The draft standards set limits on a variety of emissions from kilns, crushers, and silos.
