摘要

Residents living in a rural Chinese village where used electronic waste is managed have an elevated risk of developing lung cancer, according to new research from scientists at Oregon State University. The study, Inhalation Cancer Risk Associated with Exposure to Complex Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon Mixtures in an Electronic Waste and Urban Area in South China, collected air samples over a year from a rural village in the southern province of Guangdong where e-waste is managed, and from Guangzhou, a heavily polluted city of more than 11 million without e-waste recycling operations.
