摘要

The city of Sao Paulo, Brazil's biggest metropolis, could possibly ration water in the near future because a drought has reduced reservoirs that supply half of the city's 20 million population to critically low levels, the governor's office of southeastern Sao Paulo state said April 11. Gov. Geraldo Alckmin recently raised the possibility of water rationing in the city of Sao Paulo, a spokesman for the governor told Bloomberg BNA. But rationing would be "a technical decision" that Sabesp, the state-owned water and sewage treatment company, would have to make, the spokesman said.
