摘要

Industrial chemicals are causing such a global burden of cognitive disorders that testing, regulation and other prevention strategies are needed, wrote two physicians who have influenced chemical policies in a Feb. 14 review article appearing in the Lancet Neurology. "Strong evidence exists that industrial chemicals widely disseminated in the environment are important contributors to what we have called the global, silent pandemic of neurodevelopmental toxicity," wrote Philippe Grandjean, an adjunct environmental health professor at the Harvard School of Public Health, and Philip Landrigan, a pediatrician from the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine.
