The Asian Development Bank has raised half a billion dollars through issuing its. first-ever green bond, which will fund renewable energy and more efficient transportation as the region responds to climate change. The bond, announced March 13, is part of a small but growing area of investment. The global market for green debt recently topped $50 billion, more than double what it was about two years ago, according to Ulf Erlandsson, senior portfolio manager at the Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP4).
