Veteran Negotiator Michael Zammit Cutajar on Prospects for Global Climate Pact

Now 74, Zammit Cutajar is an adviser with the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations, a Paris-based think tank, where he keeps close tabs on the climate change negotiating process he helped give birth to. He was in Geneva for the Feb. 8-13 round of climate negotiations, where he spoke to Bloomberg BNA's Eric J. Lyman about how the drive to come up with a global climate deal later this year in Paris compares to the Kyoto Protocol and to the ill-fated follow-up attempt six years ago in Copenhagen.
