摘要

Brazil approved a resolution meant to curb illegal logging in the Amazon by changing how the government calculates the amount of usable timber that companies can get from a typical tree. The March 16 National Environmental Council (Co-nama) resolution revises a 2009 resolution (No. 411) by. reducing-from 45 percent to 35 percent per tree-the amount of commercially recoverable wood it expects logging companies to obtain from each tree.
