European Investment Bank Issues $531 Million in Green Bonds

The European Investment Bank issued 500 million euros ($531 million) of its green bonds, doubling amount of environmental securities with a 20-year maturity it has outstanding to 1 billion euros. The bonds will pay an annual coupon of 0.5 percent, according to an emailed statement. It was priced at the equivalent of 48.6 basis points over the 4 percent German bund with a 20-year maturity. The debt is listed in Luxembourg, where the EIB is also based.
