WIND ENERGY LAW IN ONTARIO

Canada has some of the world's best untapped wind energy resources, progressive wind energy policies, close proximity to major load centres in the United States, stable economic and political outlooks and well-suited capital markets. Since the introduction of its feed-in tariff ("FIT") program in 2009, Ontario has become one of the world's most attractive jurisdictions for wind and renewable energy development and Canada's other provinces are watching Ontario's energy sector with keen interest to determine future directions for their local jurisdictions, helping them to respond to and, perhaps, improve upon Ontario's FIT.
