A NEW FRAMEWORK FOR TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE OF CRUDE OIL AND NATURAL GAS HAS BEEN ENACTED IN ANGOLA

The Angolan National Assembly approved Law No.26/12 of August 22,2012 (Law 26/12) to govern transportation and storage of crude oil and natural gas. The newly enacted law defines the rules and procedures for performance of crude oil and natural gas transportation and storage activities in Angola. Transportation of hydrocarbons to international markets, as well as other specific situations related to upstream petroleum activities (such as pipes within the concession area) are expressly excluded from the scope of the new law.
