The NESI has come a long way within the last decade, even though a lot is still required before the reform objectives are met. It is also important to note that, while some amount of regulatory uncertainty is a basic part of any changing and developing utility industry (whether due to reforms or liberalisation), it is more imperative to take necessary measures to minimise the uncertainties. Prospective and existing investors continually need access to market information, a well-established and regulated access to this marketplace and a transparent and clear procedure in making new investments.
