When I first heard of this new volume, I confess I was not greatly enthused. 1 have read too many so-called guides that were out of date by the time they were published or were patchily written. No such criticism can be levelled at this excellent volume. This guide covers 33 jurisdictions. Most of the main oil- and gas-producing countries have been included. A notable exception is Nigeria, but 33 is a pretty good haul. Some of the Middle Eastern states such as Saudi Arabia are not included for the very good reason that they effectively remain "off limits" to foreign investors.
