The Directives include a multitude of provisions aimed at ensuring the independence of the ITO operator from the VIU, given that contrary to the OU model, such unbundling model provides for the continuance of the relations within the VIU, since the operator will remain in the VIU group. Among others, there are provisions on the independence and the clear designation of authorities of crucial TSO company bodies, such as the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Board, the compliance officer and the auditors, maintaining separate facilities and IT systems and the overall shaping of an independent company identity on a financial and organisational level.
