Every part of Brazil's textile industry is waiting to see if they will win or not with the Rio de Janeiro summer Olympic Games from August 5 to 21 - but concern is growing that the event will not deliver a much needed boost in sales. It certainly needs a shot in the arm. The country's endless political crisis is helping drag the economy further down at least another 3% this year, according to central bank (Banco Central do Brasil) estimates. Manufacturers are closing doors nationwide, 10% unemployment is hitting consumers and the industry. At the moment, the sports extravaganza seems to be a world away -evident through timid ticket sales.
