EU nanosafety rules impact textile finishing

European Union (EU) textile finishing companies must now - from January 1, 2020 - comply with new EU legal requirements on ensuring products containing nanomaterials are safe. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has released two guidance documents to help EU companies undertake new duties to prepare registration dossiers covering nanoforms of any chemicals used in a product. These assessments will enable dye and other textile finishing product manufacturers to provide additional information on nanomaterials sold into tne EU market - a key goal of the new rules.
