DuPont, which is once again an independent company with annual sales of US$86bn following its recent demerger from Dow, believes its Intexar could soon become a brand as well-known as its fibre inventions of the past. Considering these include such success stories overthe years as Antron, Cordura,Tactel, Lycra, Kevlar, Nomex and Tyvek, that's a big expectation, but such is the organisation's faith in its latest suite of stretchable electronic inks and flexible substrates. Significantly, Intexar products can be embedded directly onto fabrics using standard apparel manufacturing processes and garments featuring it can endure over 100 washes and continue to perform through repeated stretching.
