The town of Paldiski in Estonia, once part of the former USSR, is now investing in the future with a harbour project that will increase passenger travel to Sweden. Private investors have acquired a site on the south shore of the Gulf of Finland, which was once home to a Russian Navy nuclear submarine training centre. This 3 km~2 complex of more than 20 buildings had to be cleared as the first part of the development project. A total of 100000 tonnes of demolition waste was generated in this operation - mostly reinforced concrete and bricks - and some 60% of this was processed with a Rubble Master RM80 Compact Recycler. The site clearance work was carried out by local demolition specialist Levkoriin & KA OUE.
