Japan's Taisei Corporation is among the companies chasing the contract to build Nakheel's Trump Tower on The Palm Jumeirah. The AED 2.2 billion (US$ 600 million) Palm Trump International Hotel and Tower will be the first joint venture between Nakheel and The Trump Organisation. A spokesman at the Trump Tower development team was reported to have said that progress is being made and a shortlist for the main contractor is expected this month. During the summer, Arabian Forasol Foundations started work on the 61-storey structure, which will form the centrepiece of the Golden Mile on the Palm Jumeirah. The development will be made up of a 378-room five-star hotel and 397 residential apartments.
