The Finnish Competition Authority (FCA) has blocked contractor NCC's proposed acquisition of the asphalt paving business of Finnish contractor Destia. It is only the second time since merger control laws were introduced in 1998 that the FCA has stepped in to block such a deal. The FCA said the deal would have led to a joint dominant position between NCC Roads and Lemminkainen Infra, which would have, "significantly impeded competition in the asphalt mix market in the capital city area."
