As a manufacturer, providing the right technology at the right time is key. A decade ago, Digigram's sound card using compressed algorithm solutions helped broadcasters to accept MPEG and allowed software vendors to develop networked radio automation solutions. Today the PC and audio card is standard at broadcast stations, and many companies have built their business model on it. Almost two-thirds of the digital equipment in radio stations that is. used to record audio segments, produce programmes, and automate broadcasts uses Digigram products. While it is essential to take care of the current needs of radio, we also have to be prepared for the next wave of new technology. Looking ahead to the next revolution in broadcast, we see a shift from PC/sound card oriented radio architecture towards truly network oriented architectures with embedded audio appliances.
