The days of film cutting and splicing tape are long behind us, and now linear tape-based editing methods are following them into history. Disk-based non-linear editing and post-production has been a reality in the audio world for many years, but how does one now integrate server-based nonlinear audio and video post-production methods into a coherent workflow? DOMINIQUE BRULHART, head of software engineering at Switzerland's Merging Technologies, offers some pointers.
