Content is king is a commonly heard theme. Of course, content is a precondition for television at all. But why move to HD then if content is all that matters? The intention for HD was to create a theatre-like experience, sitting closer to the screen with an enhanced viewing angle, improved resolution and a superior sound. One could argue that some TV systems needed an upgrade to HD more than others, but overall, the intention was to create a new experience, a new Quality of Experience. This QoE is determined by a number of factors, butforemost by picture and sound quality.
