Smart TV sales (IP-aware TVs) have now eclipsed 3D television sales. In addition, the backend architecture that enables the broadcaster's workflow and the processes around that architecture have yet to be streamlined. The technologies to aid with these challenges are already available, it's applying them in the appropriate manner that needs to be addressed. Some of the key technological elements to improving a multi-platform workflow are automation via an integrated workflow, effective quality control checks and integration with broadcast trafficking systems.
