On that basis there are three central elements in what they do: 1. media (which is not just audio and video, and not necessarily in digital form). 2. workflow processes. 3. resources, technical and human. Precisely which workflow processes will depend upon the nature of the individual business. A broadcaster or playout centre, for example, might have as its fundamental structure: 4.accept a tape. 5.understand its content.
