摘要

Temporal evolution of phytoplankton communities in the two connected lakes of Revine showed many comparable features, particularly from the beginning of the stratified period onward. Lower species richness and phytoplankton biomass were observed during conditions of lower availability of TP and higher environmental variability (ice thawing, disruption of thermal stratification, overflows). A richer and increasingly stable phytoplankton community did appear to depend on stable environmental conditions (thermal stratification) and higher availability of TP. Increase of species richness in the warmest months was not completely matched by an increase in diversity due to the large development of a few dominants, including N-fixing cyanobacteria, which showed their largest growth during conditions of low nitrogen availability.
