Impact of water level fluctuations on the water quality of a shallow lake - spring and summer studies

Shallow lakes are common in the Polish landscape and are often susceptible to degradation. In such ecosystems water level fluctuations (WLFs) have a significant impact on water quality, vegetation and aquatic animals (Wetzel & Likens 1991, Blindow 1992, Dos Santos & De Assis Esteves 2002, Riis & Hawes 2002, Staniszewski & Szoszkiewicz 2002, Coops et al. 2003). In this 1999-2004 study on Br-dowskie Lake, several water quality parameters were compared to WLFs.
