Mesomechanics Of Inhomogeneous Deformation And Short-term Damage Of Elastic Bodies: Coupled Equations

The coupled equations of inhomogeneous deformation and short-time damage are formulated for problems of three-dimensional elasticity, plane strain, and plane stress. Initial representations based on the stochastic inhomogeneity of macrostrength are given. A special case of microstrength distribution which simplifies the equations is examined. The cylindrical bending of an elastic layer is considered as a numerical example.
