Climate research satellite to be launched by PSLV

The Indo-French climate research satellite, Megha Tropiques, which will be launched by means of India's four stage space workhorse PSLV(Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) during 2010-11, will help gain an insight into the life cycle of convective systems and their role in the associated energy and moisture budget of the atmosphere in the tropical regions. The Megha Tropiques, built at the Bangalore based Satellite Centre of thernIndian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has made use of an IRS(lndian Remote Sensing Satellite) platform.
