Dassault Rafale on orders-winning spree

Dassault Aviation had a backlog of 110 Rafale combat aircraft by end December 2016, which included 32 aircraft for the French armed forces, 18 for the Egyptian Air Force, 24 for the Qatar Emiri Air Force and 36 for the Indian Air Force. The agreement for the purchase had a 50% offset clause. One interesting development resulting from that clause is the formation of a 49/51% joint venture between Dassault Aviation and their Indian partner Reliance Aerospace to form Dassault Reliance Aerospace Pvt. Ltd.
