These are the exciting times for the Indian aerospace sector, which not long back wasa monopoly of India's state owned aerospace giant, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL),with just a handful private enterprises playing a peripheral role as a low end service providers and component suppliers. However, the opening up of the defence and aerospace sector to the private players in India in 2001 heralded a veritable "shifting dynamics" in so far as the aerospace manufacturing in India was concerned. With the Narendra Modi led Government firmly committed to the objective of making India self reliant in defence and aerospace manufacturing by harnessing the potentials of the Indian industry, the Indian industries in the private sector are all set to play a significant role in meeting the needs of the Indian defence forces. Not surprisingly then the aerospace manufacturing in India spearheaded by the private Industrial entities is gathering momentum in the country.
