WSIS2011 Update on the World Summit on the Information Society

Geneva —This year's World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum was held in the cavernous halls of the International Labour Organisation's headquarters in Geneva. Bringing together senior figures from UN organisations, government ministers, leaders of the private sector and civil society organisations, the Forum provided a valuable opportunity both to reflect on the progress made so far on the WSIS Action Lines, and also to plan ahead strategically to help ensure that the benefits of ICTs can truly be achieved for most people in the world by 2015.
