Granting certiorari in a patent infringement case brought by a manufacturer of toner cartridges for the manufacturer's printers, the United States Supreme Court will consider the applicability of the common-law exhaustion doctrine, also known as the first-sale doctrine, to domestic sales with a single-useo-resale restriction and to importation after foreign sales with or without the restriction.
