Mediamatics Introduces Breakthrough System-On-a-Chip for Digital Video Disc Players

In January, Mediamatics of Fremont, CA announced the Pantera-DVD, the first fully integrated DVD-on-a-chip solution for consumer DVD players. Pantera-DVD integrates all the back-end decoding functions (such as data stream processing, CSS decoding, MPEG video decoding, and NTSC and PAL encoding), an audio RISC-DSP, 10-bit video DACs, and a proprietary 32-bit RISC processor into a single chip.
