摘要

In the polarization-maintaining fiber loop mirrors (PM-FLM), the birefringence of the polarization-maintaining fiber (PMF, one of the typical PMFs is the high-birefringence fiber) introduces phase difference and results in time-delay interference between the two counterpropagating waves. Hence, the transmission (or the reflection) spectrum is characterized by comb filtering, which is easily tuned and is independent of input wave polarization. Based on the properties, the PM-FLM is widely used in the field of optical fiber sensing and communication.
