China Construction Bank (CCB) is one of the leading reformers in the Chinese banking sector. From 2007 to the first quarter of 2008, CCB has achieved rapid yet steady development in all lines of business, earning recognition from the international capital market, with outstanding operating results. CCB is among the world's largest banks in terms of market capitalization. As of March 31, 2008, total assets reached RMB 6.8 trillion, a 4.20 percent increase from the previous fiscal year. In 2007, CCB realized pre-tax profit of RMB 100.8 billion and net profit of RMB 69.1 billion, representing growths of 53.41 percent and 49.27 percent respectively. Operating income surged by 45.60 percent from the previous year to RMB 220.7 billion. In 2007, net fee and commission income rose by 130.73 percent from the previous year to RMB 31.3 billion, the highest increase among the three major listed banks in China.
