The meeting at Aerotech on 8th April was the last one for this season and, in keeping with tradition, the Branch closed the year with the Annual General Meeting. The formal proceedings were completed in expedient time with all the existing Branch officers being re-elected to their posts for another year. With the formalities out of the way, Chairman Pete Stephens introduced a talk on Root Cause and Corrective Action, by Karen Reader of NDT Assurance Services. Karen started with a statement of NADCAP expectations for responding to non-conformances raised during an audit. These include immediate (containment) action, analysis of root cause, corrective action which addresses the root cause, assessment of any impact on product, and objective evidence.
