DOD, Services Eye Implementation Of New Product Support Plan

The Pentagon's material readiness directorate and the services are working to implement recent recommendations to improve long-term product support on major weapons systems, according to documents obtained by Inside the Pentagon. The recommendations, briefed to members of the Joint Logistics Board on Nov. 18, call for establishing three integrated product teams (IPTs) with several sub-IPT groups that cover everything from "industrial integration strategy" to "human capital," according to briefing slides from the meeting.
