House and Senate conferees plan to meet after the August recess to hash out new legislation that will allow both-military and commercial unmanned aerial systems to operate in the national airspace.rnCompeting versions of federal guidance for UAS operations in the continental United States were included in House and Senate versions of the Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill. The full House approved its version of the bill May 2. The full Senate has yet to vote on the bill.rnMembers in both chambers "tried very hard to reach a pretty balanced approach" in terms of the implementation deadlines proposed in the bills, according to a congressional source.
