摘要

Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal's initial resource recommendations for the Afghanistan war, compiled months before President Obama's announcement in early December to commit 30,000 additional troops, are still under wraps but lawmakers plan to ask for the information again soon, according to officials.rnShortly after Obama's Dec. 1,2009, West Point speech, McChrystal, who oversees all NATO and U.S. forces fighting in Afghanistan, was asked about his early moves last fall to formulate requirements for turning around the war there. "General, can you tell this committee and the American people what were the different force options you requested, and the degree of risk that was tied to those requests?" House Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Howard McKeon (R-CA) asked McChrystal during a Dec. 12, 2009, hearing.
