OSD Panel To Hear, Mull Industry's UAS Sense-And-Avoid Work Next Week

A Pentagon-assembled panel will hear 20 presentations during industry days next week in its quest to determine how to help unmanned drones sense and avoid nearby objects. A science and research panel established by the Office of the Secretary of Defense has culled these industry presenters from nearly 27 responses to a request for information this summer seeking briefs on sense-and-avoid algorithms, as well as on how this information is displayed to the unmanned aircraft system pilot or operators.
