Alexander: DOD Poised To Release Cyberspace Rules Of Engagement

The Pentagon is poised to release updated rules of engagement for cyberspace after the administration irons out what authorities will be given and under what conditions they can be conducted, senior defense officials testified to Congress this week. During a House Armed Services emerging threats and capabilities subcommittee hearing Tuesday, U.S. Cyber Command commander Gen. Keith Alexander said that these standing rules of engagement will update a 2004 version and are expected to be finalized in the next few months. He noted the project tops the list of issues the command is focused on.
