DT&E Chief Aims To Better Support DOD Acquisition Decisions

The Defense Department's developmental-testing community must improve the timing, content and quality of the information it provides to Pentagon acquisition executive Frank Kendall and focus more on cybersecurity, according to guidance from the community's acting chief. To better aid Kendall, the community will begin publishing a comprehensive developmental-testing assessment at each critical decision point in acquisition programs, with a particular emphasis on milestone C, which begins the production and deployment phase, writes Steven Hutchison, acting deputy assistant secretary of defense for developmental test and evaluation, in an April 19 memo.
