Navy-Marine Corps Intranet Price Ceiling Increased By $1.2 Billion

The Navy reevaluated the contract ceiling for the legacy Navy-Marine Corps Intranet and has raised it to $6.1 billion, a $1.2-billion boost, according to a Feb. 20 Federal Business Opportunities notice of intent. "Based on current requirements, the DON estimates the NMCI CoSC [continuity of services contract] ceiling amount of $4.9 billion will be exceeded in September 2013," the Navy said in a statement released the same day. In addition to the increase in the contract ceiling, the notice of intent includes potential contract options to extend the NMCI CoSC to Sept. 30, 2014, to ensure the service can complete the transition to the Next-Generation Enterprise Network, the notice reads.
