With new leader, Lockheed Martin Ventures readies to make first investment

Lockheed Martin's venture capital fund is preparing to make its first investment since hiring a new leader. Chris Moran, tapped in June to serve as general manager of Lockheed Martin Ventures, told Inside Defense in an interview he's spent his initial months on the job getting to know the contractor, its business groups and its needs. Moran has spent 35 years in Silicon Valley, including as an executive at Applied Materials. He spent the last eight years as general manager of Applied Ventures, according to Lockheed.
