The Pentagon's advanced research arm intends to hold a proposers' day later this month for a computing program that seeks "revolutionary techniques that will demonstrate the value of in-network programmability" in advance of a planned broad agency announcement, according to a recent notice on Federal Business Opportunities. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency will hold the June 30 proposers' day at its conference center in Arlington, VA, for the Dispersed Computing program, which intends to "produce software instantiations of algorithms and protocol stacks that leverage pervasive, physically dispersed computing platforms to boost application and network performance by orders of magnitude," according to the June 3 special notice.
