In the corresponding nweek of last year, EIA reported a 181-Bcf withdrawal, leav-ning 3.394 Tcf in storage. As a result, the 154-Bcf surplus to nthe year-ago level grew to 235 Bcf, while the 347-Bcf surplus nto the five-year average of 3.242 Tcf expanded to 387 Bcf. nEIA reported a 63-Bcf withdrawal in the East to 1.945 Tcf, ncompared with 1.791 Tcf a year ago, a 23-Bcf withdrawal in nthe West to 470 Bcf, compared with 458 Bcf a year ago and na 14-Bcf withdrawal in the producing region to 1.214 Tcf, ncompared with 1.146 Tcf a year ago. Inventories now are n157 Bcf above the five-year average of 1.788 Tcf in the East, n28 Bcf above the five-year average of 442 Bcf in the West, nand 202 Bcf above the five-year average of 1.012 Tcf in the nproducing region.
