Company officials said they expect trading activitynand liquidity at the hub to grow as gas gains market sharenover coal for power generation. More than 60% of installedngeneration capacity in the Dallas/Fort Worth area is fuelednby gas, NorTex said. According to ICE records, the Tolar Hub began trading on March 20, with liquidity slowly rampingnup over the month. Traded volumes at the point hitt 21,300nMMBtu as of April 12, ICE data shows.
