North American midstream operators make moves to take advantage of gas opportunities

TransCanada will move 630 MMcf/d of natural gas from the WesternCanadian Sedimentary Basin to markets in Ontario, Quebec, theMaritimes and the Northeastern US under long-term contracts withshippers, it said.US pipeline operator Williams, meanwhile, said December 6 it has soldsome non-core midstream assets along the Gulf Coast for $177 million.The moves come as midstream companies across North Americalook to take advantage of robust demand for gas at home andoverseas.
